Nicholas Delgado is the founder and principal of Dignitas, an investment banking platform for growth oriented founder and family run businesses. Nick is a thought leader and go-to advisor for high growth companies and their founders on topics such as mergers and acquisitions, partnering with private equity and developing advisory and governing boards.
Nick has been featured in local and national publications from the Chicago Tribune to the Wall Street Journal for his pioneering application of corporate and family governance in privatively held businesses. Through the Dignitas family office platform, Nick has helped families deploy over $300MM to public and private market investments and is a regular speaker on issues of valuation and investment allocation. In 2014, Investment News recognized Nick as one 40 high performing finance professionals across the country under the age of 40.
Prior to founding Dignitas, Nick counseled high net worth families as a Wealth Management Advisor at the private banks of Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. While at Merrill Lynch, Nick achieved top decile investment performance amongst his peers during the 2008-09 financial crisis.
A lifelong Chicagoan, Nick is deeply committed to servings the city’s various civic, education and social service organizations. His non-profit and civic leadership experience includes serving as Chairman of the Board for Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly where he championed a venture fund for new initiatives for elders living in social isolation as well as chairing the board for Public Narrative (formerly Community Media Workshop). He is currently a trustee and Chairman of the Finance Committee for Adler University, a Commissioner on the Chicago Community Development Commission, a Leadership Greater Chicago fellow, a co-founder of the Private Directors Association and a founding member of Chicago Founders Circle. He has also leveraged his financial insight for public advocacy as the author of the annual study “10 Ways Being Online Saves You Money,” published by the Internet Innovation Alliance over the past 6 years.
When Nick is not working with clients and investigating new investment opportunities, he enjoys performing improv with his Second City spinoff team, Velvet Stallion, organizing the Chicago Supper Club, and training for marathons. Nick graduated with a B.A. from The University of Michigan and Whitney Young High School.
