Tom Brdecka has worked in financial services since 2003. Tom joined IHT Wealth Management in 2015 as a Financial Advisor and Senior Vice President. He started his career at Transamerica Financial Advisors holding the Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction (OSJ) and running a branch for eight years. Tom values most the client experience for the individuals, families and institutions that he serves applying a bottom-up approach. This approach allows Tom to contour his services to his clients’ needs. Tom provides custom financial solutions across all aspects of wealth management and his primary goal is to be his clients’ advocate to the financial marketplace. Tom sat on two Society of Actuaries Fellowship exams and applies this background in risk management to his individualized wealth management strategies. Tom focuses on portfolio construction, retirement planning, income planning, money management and tax strategies. Tom graduated from the University of Iowa in 1996 and resides in Naperville.

Tom founded Tall Oaks Advisors in December of 2012. His focus is on Financial Planning and Wealth Management along with advising on Employer Sponsored Retirement Plans.

Tom was born in Summit, NJ and moved to Leawood, KS in 1984.  He attended Kansas State and Baker University, where he earned his MBA.  While still in high school, Tom turned one of his passions into a business by opening a sports collectible store.  Tom owned and ran this for 13 years and became a founding member of eBay Power Sellers.  In 2001, Tom decided to pursue one of his other passions and changed career paths to become a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial.  Since 2001, he has been helping his clients pursue their financial goals and dreams.  Tom holds a Series 7 securities registration through LPL Financial and a series 66 registration with both LPL Financial and Tall Oaks Advisors as well as life and health insurance licenses in multiple states. He also holds the designation of Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC ®).

Tom resides in Overland Park, KS with his wife Beth and their children Thomas and Olivia. Tom is an avid Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and Kansas State Wildcat fan. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf and cheering on his kids at their various activities.

Randy Cohen, a Charleston native, graduated from Indiana University in 1993 with a degree in Finance. He began his financial advisory career in Cleveland, Ohio and spent five years working in the Chicago suburbs including over three years managing a branch in Bannockburn, Illinois. Randy returned to Charleston in 1998 to fulfill a lifelong dream of working with his father, David. As of July, 2012, Randy and his family moved back to Chicago and will work in both the Charleston and Skokie offices.

Since 1998, Randy has worked on the boards of the Charleston Animal Society, Charleston Jewish Community Center, Brith Sholom Beth Israel Synagogue, The West Ashley Minyan and Addlestone Hebrew Academy. He has added his work as a volunteer with Arie Crown Hebrew Day School and the YU Kollel since he arrived in Chicago.

His non-working hours are devoted to his wife, Robyn and their 3 boys, Micah, Judah and Ezra and their golden retriever, Izzy.

Randy brings his passion for community, philanthropy and family to every client interaction. When he finds some time, he enjoys Indy Car racing and Indiana University Basketball, a holdover from his years in Indiana.

Randy focuses on the whole plan in the client relationship. Randy loves his work with clients and gains great satisfaction from their achievements and milestones.

David Cohen was a Phi Beta Kappa at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and has a degree in Business Administration. In the Jewish community, he served as chairman of the Addlestone Hebrew Academy, president of the Charleston Jewish Federation, president of Synagogue Emanu-El, chairman of the Charleston Israel Bonds committee, President of the JNF, and a board member of ORT.

In the general community, he served as a board member of the Trident United Way, Coastal Community Foundation, MUSC Heart and Vascular Board, College of Charleston Jewish Studies Board, Low Country Food Bank, and a member of Rotary International. In business, he was executive vice president and general manager of Coastal Institutional Distributors, vice president and general manager of PYA/Monarch, Inc., and was an account executive at J.C. Bradford and Co. Investment Brokers, Paine Webber, UBS, and Merrill Lynch. He is also a Certified Financial Planner ™.

Linda and David are the proud parents of Jeffrey & Jody, Randy and Michael.
