Since becoming a financial advisor in 2004, Jeff has been serving a diverse clientele of individuals, families and small businesses by partnering with them to make smart financial decisions and become better stewards of their financial resources. He began his career in financial services in 1995, servicing 401(k) plans at a trust company and then spent eight years working with an executive benefits consulting firm before becoming a financial advisor. Jeff achieved the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠(CRPC®) designation which denotes an expertise in pre-and post-retirement planning needs, including: retirement income, personal savings, retirement plans, income taxes, asset management, and estate planning. He earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and BBA in Marketing Management from Loyola University Chicago.

Clients can expect Jeff to build trusted relationships that encourage communication and facilitate a lifelong financial partnership. Jeff uses a straightforward approach to planning that begins by listening to understand the client’s financial situation and life goals. This information is then used to design a holistic financial road map incorporating retirement and education funding goals, retirement income planning, investment strategies, insurance/risk management, and estate planning needs. Maintaining regular communication with clients allows Jeff to immediately address any concerns and make financial planning and investment adjustments, especially as they pass through different life events and stages.

An outgoing person who enjoys staying active and meeting new people, Jeff likes many outdoor sports and recreational activities, including hiking, running, and cycling. He has a personal goal of visiting and hiking in every U.S. National Park, many of which he and his family have already visited. Jeff, his wife Julie, and their five children (Jack, Tim, Renee, Aaron, and Joe) live in Northbrook, Illinois, and enjoy their time together as family.

Jeff believes in focusing some of his time on important community involvement and volunteering his time to local organizations, currently serving on the Young Life North Shore Parent Committee in a finance leadership role. He has also been continuously either leading or participating in various men’s church groups and has previously served in several leadership roles on church boards and committees over the years. Jeff has also been involved in school district related activities as the Treasurer of the Citizens for District 30 Bond Referendum ballot initiative committee, member of the Northbrook/Glenview School District #30 Citizens Task Force and member of the District 30 Caucus. Through the Northbrook Park District, he has coached several seasons of youth baseball, basketball and soccer since 2006.

I was once asked to describe my life in 5 words or less so with limited time I came up with Authentic, Transparent, Enthusiastic, Resourceful, and Loyal. As an established advisor those characteristics have guided my professional life as well as shaped my personal life as a husband, father, and mentor.

I believe the first step on the path to getting where you want to go starts with an honest conversation and once we determine the right direction together, I’ll help you stay the course through regular portfolio reviews and accessibility on YOUR schedule. Client relationships are the foundation of my practice and I hope to earn your trust and the role of your advisor for not just years, but generations to come. Financial planning doesn’t have to be difficult, and you don’t have to do it alone, I am here to support you. I realize that this business can be intimidating and sometimes overwhelming, therefore I want to reduce client stress by joking that “I’m closer to Main Street than Wall Street”. Our firm doesn’t strive to be someone else, we just want to be the best version of us!

I believe every journey is unique and so are your financial needs, so I listen to your goals and help develop tailored plans and objective recommendations. Being an independent financial advisor offers me the flexibility to adjust client strategies to accommodate changes in lifestyle, family, and career. So no top down corporate directives, canned solutions, or cookie cutter strategies! We manage your finances so they don’t manage you, and that equates to financial confidence. Our purpose is to identify and create plans that will simplify our client’s lives and empower them with options and confidence.

I love spending time outdoors including hunting, coaching youth teams, golf, Spring Training and OU Football. Volunteerism is an important to my wife Tammy and I as we have both served on multiple committees and non-profit groups serving their community.
